French wine group Advini has appointed Léa Colin as sales manager travel retail in a move that will bring her former experience with Moët Hennessy as well as an international perspective to the role.

Colin, who holds a specialised Master’s degree in the International Wine and Spirits Trade and brings more than five years of experience, is originally from Burgundy. Her wine experience has taken her from the vineyards of France to the wine regions of Argentina, New Zealand and Australia, where she has had time to develop both her technical knowledge and commercial expertise.

Experience from Moët Hennessy

During her time at Moët Hennessy, where she worked as a travel retail Europe assistant covering retail and marketing, Colin gained valuable insight into the dynamics of the channel and this, she has said, confirmed her ambition to build her career in the global travel retail sector.

Colin also has an existing connection with Advini, having previously undertaken an internship within the marketing teams of Château Gassier and L’Oratoire des Papes. Her return to the company marks the next step in a relationship that began several years ago, and Advini has said that it is delighted to welcome her back with a new remit focused on developing its travel retail business.

In her new role, Colin will be responsible for supporting the growth of Advini’s distribution in travel retail, working with partners and customers to further develop the presence of the group’s portfolio of French wine brands across international travel retail markets.

Developing a GTR presence

Colin said: “I am delighted to be returning to Advini and to take on this new role within travel retail. Having discovered the sector through my experience at Moët Hennessy, I am particularly excited to combine my passion for wine, my international experience and my knowledge of Advini’s brands to help develop their presence in this dynamic channel.”

Advini’s portfolio brings together a collection of distinctive French wine estates and brands, with a strong representation of terroirs including Provence, the Rhône Valley, Languedoc and Burgundy.

The group has admitted that Colin’s appointment is also a way for the company to reinforce its commitment to expanding its international reach and develop new opportunities for its wines within travel retail.
