BANGKOK, Thailand – Serenity Wines Asia, an Australian wine company and premium international wine importer and distributor in Thailand, has announced a new partnership with renowned Spanish wine brands BERONIA and VILARNAU, strengthening its portfolio of carefully selected wines from distinguished producers around the world.

To mark the partnership, Anthony Rossi, Managing Director of Serenity Wines Asia, and Xavier Vicente Tamames, Asia Pacific & Middle East Export Director of González Byass, jointly hosted the launch of “BERONIA & VILARNAU”, an exclusive wine tasting and celebration at El Tapeo, Ekkamai, Bangkok.

The event officially announced that Serenity Wines Asia is the exclusive importer and distributor of BERONIA and VILARNAU in Thailand, bringing two distinctive Spanish wine houses from the González Byass family to Thailand’s premium wine market.

From Rioja to Penedès: Two distinctive expressions of Spanish winemaking

Founded in 1973 in Ollauri, in the heart of Rioja Alta, BERONIA was created by a group of friends united by their passion for food and wine. The winery takes its name from the Berones, an ancient Celtic people who inhabited the Rioja region around the third century BC. BERONIA joined the González Byass family in 1982 and has since developed an international reputation for combining traditional Rioja winemaking with innovation, including its distinctive approach to oak ageing.

VILARNAU, meanwhile, has roots extending back to the 12th century, when the Vilarnau family settled in the Penedès region, and vines were already being cultivated on the estate. The first Cava carrying the Vilarnau name was produced in 1949. Located near Sant Sadurní d’Anoia in Penedès, the winery is recognised for artisanal Cava production, contemporary design and a strong commitment to sustainable and organic viticulture.

Both BERONIA and VILARNAU are part of González Byass, the historic family-owned Spanish wine and spirits company founded in Jerez de la Frontera in 1835. Today, the company is led by the fifth generation of the González family and has developed an international portfolio of wineries and brands across some of the world’s most important wine regions.

Completing the evening was a specially curated wine-pairing experience by Chef Alberto Izard (first from the left) owner chef of El Tapeo, who created a selection of dishes inspired by traditional Spanish flavours to complement the distinctive personalities of BERONIA and VILARNAU. The combination of fine Rioja wines, artisanal Cava and authentic Spanish cuisine offered guests an immersive journey through Spain’s rich wine and gastronomic culture, while celebrating the beginning of a new chapter for Serenity Wines Asia, BERONIA and VILARNAU in Thailand.

The partnership reflects Serenity Wines Asia’s commitment to expanding its premium international portfolio and introducing established wine producers with strong heritage, craftsmanship and international recognition to discerning consumers, hospitality partners and wine enthusiasts throughout Thailand.
