Independent Italian producer Lazzaroni Liquori is bringing two distinctly seasonal flavours to the UK drinks market with its Panettone Cream Liqueur and Lazzaroni Amaretto.

The range draws on the producer’s heritage in Saronno, where it is known for traditional Italian sweet treats including panettone and amaretti biscuits. While both products can be used in cocktails, they also work well for after-dinner drinks and festive desserts during the Christmas season.

A pourable panettone

Lazzaroni Panettone Cream Liqueur takes inspiration from the classic Italian Christmas cake, combining creamy vanilla notes with candied fruit, citrus and orange peel.

Bottled at 17% ABV, the cream liqueur is intended for dessert-style serving and can be enjoyed over ice with orange peel. It can also add a festive twist to hot chocolate, be poured over vanilla ice cream, or be incorporated into espresso-led cocktails.

The liqueur was developed following a suggestion from bartender Samuele Ambrosi, who challenged Lazzaroni to create a spirit with as strong a connection to the company’s heritage as its established amaretto.

Lazzaroni spent a year developing the product, aiming to recreate the flavours associated with traditional panettone in liquid form. The drink received a Master Medal at The Spirit Business Spring Tasting 2026.

It is available throughout the year in a 50cl bottle. The product contains milk and milk derivatives.

Lazzaroni Amaretto is made in Saronno using Amaretti del Chiostro di Saronno biscuits, rather than relying solely on almond flavouring or extract.

The biscuits are made with sugar, apricot kernels and egg whites, then macerated in alcohol for several months. The infusion is filtered before being blended with further ingredients, water and sugar.

At 24% ABV, the finished liqueur has notes of roasted almond, marzipan, dried fruit and warming brown spice. It can be served neat or over ice after dinner, used in an Amaretto Sour, or added to coffee-based drinks.

The amaretto has been recognised with 93 points and a Gold Medal from the Beverage Testing Institute, as well as a Master medal in The Spirits Business Liqueur Masters 2025. It contains egg and egg derivatives.

Pairing ideas

For a fuller Italian-inspired festive spread, both drinks can be paired with Panettone del Chiostro di Saronno or Amaretti del Chiostro di Saronno biscuits.

The panettone is produced using a traditional 72-hour process with mature mother yeast, butter, fresh eggs and candied fruit. The amaretti biscuits can be served alongside coffee, used in place of sponge fingers in tiramisu, or added to a trifle.
