Does this look good to non filipinos out there? They look like dinner rolls but in the Philippines they call it Buns or monay.

Those look like they’d soak up a bowl of soup perfectly. that crust color is exactly what i aim for with my own rolls.

No, doesn’t really look like monay at all. I’m sure yours are good though. Did you make yours with egg, milk, and butter? It should be dense and yellowish. Also, monay isn’t the Filipino translation of bread. The word to bread is tinapay (tea-nah-pie).

Monay is the local adaption of the Spanish pan de monja. Should be a slightly sweet bread. Monay has a deep score in the middle creating two cheeks.

    Are you a witch (compliment)

I want to sink my teeth into one SO BADLY. Does it have a particular taste?

Looks good but does not look like monay. Seems closer to a shiny pandesal or just general dinner rolls/burger buns.

You’re getting mixed replies but in my part of the country we call that monay 🙂 They look gorgeous btw, exactly like the ones sold at bakeries!

I thought you had glued foreheads of bald people together as a protest against deification of bald people in the movie industry…getting some human centipede vibes.
