Can confirm, it was delicious. Could be prettier/neater though. Something to work on next time!

Edit: here’s the recipe for people that wanted it!

DOUGH:
3/4 cup warm milk
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
21/4 tsp instant yeast
1 large room temp egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder

GARLIC HERB BUTTER FILLING:
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1tbs Italian seasoning
Shredded mozzarella or an Italian blend (measure with your heart)

BUTTER TOPPING:
Parsley (to your liking)
1/4 cup melted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced.

Steps:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the egg and melted butter, then whisk until combined.
  3. Add the bread flour, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and slightly tacky. if needed, use a little oil while kneading instead of adding extra flour.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 2 1/2-3 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Mix together the softened butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Roll the dough into a large rectangle and spread the garlic herb butter evenly over the surface. sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
  7. Cut the dough into 3 even strips and stack them on top of each other and then cut into 5 squares, then stack the squares on top of each other. place the stacks upright into a lined loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let rise again for 20-30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes-1 hour, or until golden brown and cooked through. if the top browns too quickly, loosely tent with foil for the remaining bake time.
  10. While the bread is baking, combine the melted butter, garlic, and parsley.
  11. Brush generously over the warm bread as soon as it comes out of the oven. & enjoyyy
