LIZZU: A Fresh Mediterranean All-Day Café & Wine Bar Opens in Lodhi Colony, ETHospitalityWorld - Dining and Cooking

A new 42-seat all-day café and wine bar, has opened in Lodhi Colony, bringing a fresh, ingredient-led approach to dining in Delhi. Founded by Ruchi Rajpal, LIZZU draws from Sicily, the Aegean, Turkey, the Levant and Persia, bringing these influences together through a menu built around olive oil, citrus, yoghurt, fresh cheese, eggs and freshly baked bread.

LIZZU moves from breakfast and coffee in the morning to bowls, salads and fresh pasta throughout the day, before transitioning into an evening wine bar with mezze and plates designed for pairing.

Freshness is central to the LIZZU philosophy. Breads, fresh pasta, dips, dressings and other components are prepared in-house, while the beverage programme features a dedicated whole-yuzu lemonade section, with options including LIZZU Lemonade, Coconut Yuzu Fizz and Yuzu Granita Soda. The yuzu is pressed fresh daily in limited quantities, with no syrups or concentrates used.

Located at No. 18, Block 13 Market, Lodhi Colony, the 42-seat space takes cues from the Greek Cyclades, combining white walls, cobalt blue, aged brass, honey-toned wood and iridescent glass mosaic. Designed to remain relaxed throughout the day, the café transitions into a quieter wine-led setting in the evening.

Rajpal said of the new restaurant, “I opened LIZZU for one reason: to serve the food I love, fresh. Delhi has plenty of places to eat out and very few where you can taste that the bread came out of the oven ten minutes ago and the lemon was pressed for your glass. The menu is short on purpose. Real yuzu, not syrup. Bread baked through the day. Everything cooked to order, nothing held, nothing boxed. I hope LIZZU gives Delhi a room where breakfast is taken as seriously as the night: eggs at eight, wine at nine, and both times the feeling that someone cares about the plate.”
