Hi everyone, I hope you can help.

My husband’s aunt gave us some homegrown aubergines. They were amazing! I saved some seed which sprouted.

These are the seedlings now ( about 3 weeks from sprouting) I’m in Kent UK and the weather is getting considerably cooler.

What can I do with them? We don’t have a glass greenhouse just a cheap plasticy one which won’t be warm enough.

Also – will they grow over the winter? Should I have dried and saved the seeds instead?

Thank you for any help or advice 💕

You start these indoors in late winter early spring so you’re a little early! Might as well try and see what happens though.

Do another batch with a heated mat in jan/feb, or on a windowsill from feb/march.

I’m afraid that they are toast. They are unlikely to make it through the winter due to lack of light and heat.

If you have more seeds, start them in early spring.

Do you know what variety your aunt planted as if it is an F1 hybrid, the seeds won’t be the same as the original plant.
