Petaluma was in the news again last week, and in a very tasty way.

“We’re extremely proud to have been featured on ABC’s ‘The View’ in a national segment presented by Adam Glassman from Oprah Daily,” declared a post on the Facebook page of Petaluma’s McEvoy Ranch. “Seeing our estate-grown olive oils and ODE Olive Oil Body Care shared with viewers across the country is a moment our whole team will remember.”

During the segment — which appeared toward the end of the program on Friday, Oct. 2 — Glassman pitched McEvoy Ranch as one of his “personal favorites,” describing it as, “a sustainable olive ranch up in Petaluma, California, family owned.” As he spoke, the camera lingered on several items produced from local olive oil, specifically spotlighting McEvoy’s lavender, citrus, verde and unscented hand and body lotions. After remarking, “They grow all their own olives, they do an early harvest,” Glassman added, “A tip from Oprah is, ‘Everyone needs hand creme in their bag at all times.’”

He then went on to display some of the more edible products from the local ranch.

“They have olive oils to cook with, and to eat with,” he said, speaking alongside closeups of bottled lemon, chili lime, rosemary, ginger turmeric, extra virgin and and Herbes de Provance oils.

“It’s a fabulous olive oil,” he said as the show’s hosts dipped hunks of bread into the chili lime oil, declaring it, “Delicious.”

In its Facebook post about the brief television segment, McEvoy’s staff said, “Every bottle of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil starts here on our family-owned Ranch in Petaluma, and we’re so grateful that what we grow and craft with care reaches kitchens across the country.”
