The Stuart Fire Department is ready for one of their big annual events tomorrow.
Stuart FD Booster Club President Tyler Corbin says they will be holding their french toast dinner fundraiser, an event they’ve been holding for 20 years. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it initially started as a fireman’s dance, but somewhere along the way changed to a meal.
“Honestly, nobody seems to know. That part has apparently been lost into history. After more than 20 years, french toast has definitely become part of the tradition. We get the whole department involved cooking and serving. It’s just a fun way to get everybody together at the station.”
Corbin mentions that the dinner includes french toast, eggs and sausage, is for a freewill donation, and will begin at 5:30pm. He adds that at 6:30pm they will hold a live auction with several items available, and that there will also be a raffle.
