Saint Sophia Greek Festival Funstival
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Original Greek FUNstival returns to San Antonio Oct. 16-18 as St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church celebrates its 100th anniversary with three days of Greek food, live music, traditional dancing and family-friendly activities.
The festival will take place at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 N. St. Mary’s St., following its successful return in 2025.
Festivalgoers can enjoy traditional Greek favorites, including gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita, dolmades, baklava and loukoumades. Organizers are expanding the Greek Grill tent to increase cooking capacity and reduce wait times. The festival will also feature traditional Greek coffee drinks, including Nescafé frappés.
Live Greek music and traditional folk dancing in regional costumes will take place throughout the weekend. New this year, a Greece Learning Zone will offer interactive activities introducing children and families to Greek history, language and traditions.
Visitors can also explore an expanded AGORA Greek Marketplace featuring specialty products, imported goods, gifts and artisan offerings. A Greek Wine Bar will serve Greek wines, imported beer and other beverages.
Founded in 1926, St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church is marking a century of faith, service and Greek heritage in San Antonio. Proceeds from the festival will support the church’s ministries, programs and community outreach efforts.
