LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Little Rock has a new reason to hop out of bed early: Pinnacle Donuts on Cantrell Road celebrated its grand opening today, serving up family recipes, creative flavors and a caffeine boost to match.
Owner Jaelil Vences said opening day felt surreal. “It feels like a dream come true. I feel blessed, and I’m just grateful to be able to do this, especially because I’m working with my family, which is wonderful,” she said. “Everybody here has been so welcoming, so happy.”
Jaelil described Pinnacle Donuts as a family-focused shop built around recipes they’ve been making for years. “So Pinnacle Donuts is honestly just a small business, a mom and pop shop, and it’s just a composure of our family recipes and community and love,” she said. “Our priority is the customers, and for everyone to enjoy our family recipes, it means a lot when people love our every morning breakfast.”
The menu includes classic donut-shop breakfast options and a few family favorites. Jaelil said customers can expect “croissants with bacon, sausage, and ham,” along with “burritos,” “biscuits” and “kolaches,” adding, “We prep those every day, fresh for you guys.”
On the donut side, the shop is leaning into fun flavor combinations, including a Biscoff cookie donut and other rotating ideas. “We honestly, it was just our creativity, and we were thinking vanilla and biscoff could go so well together,” Jaelil said, noting customers have also been enjoying “our Oreo on chocolate” and asking for flavors like Fruity Pebble.
Pinnacle Donuts also has a drive-through and serves coffee, including Vietnamese coffee that Jaelil said stands out from more traditional brews. “So Vietnamese coffee is made cold pressed in the traditional Vietnamese machine,” she said. “So we use condensed milk, and then little by little we add water and French coffee, which is called Cà Phê Sữa, and we continue to press it and we make it fresh every morning. It is sweet and it has caffeine. It has a little more caffeine than the usual, but that’s why people love it.”
The grand opening brought steady traffic, and Jaylee said the support has meant a lot to her family, especially given the work that goes into the early mornings. “It means a lot to our family because we all work here so hard. Each and every one of us. No one works harder than the other,” she said. She added that their baker “comes in 1 a.m. 2 a.m.” and that the donut recipes have been in the family “for around over 25 years.”
Pinnacle Donuts is open from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day, Monday through Sunday.
Jaelil also said the shop has more planned beyond opening day. “Yeah, we have lots of things in store for everybody,” she said.
