The head of the Jordanian Olive Oil Mills and Olive Producers Association, Taysir Al-Najdawi, said all olive oil mills across the Kingdom are fully prepared and operating efficiently to receive and process this season’s 2026 olive harvest and produce high-quality olive oil.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued Tuesday, Al-Najdawi said the association conducted field inspections of all olive oil mills before the start of the pressing season through its quality-control engineer. The inspections aimed to ensure compliance with health, occupational safety and environmental requirements stipulated in the regulations governing the licensing, establishment and operation of olive oil mills under the applicable Agriculture Law.

He said the association maintains continuous coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and all regulatory and security authorities on organizational and oversight issues affecting the sector, with the aim of protecting its sustainability and development given its economic, social and environmental importance as one of Jordan’s key agricultural sectors.

Al-Najdawi noted that several meetings were held with the Minister of Agriculture and the Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration ahead of the season to coordinate preparations.

He praised the oversight role of joint government committees comprising officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, the Cybercrime Unit and the association.

He particularly highlighted the committee responsible for protecting Jordanian olive oil, which monitors, tracks and combats all forms of fraud that may affect olive oil and takes deterrent legal action against those responsible.

Al-Najdawi said the association is also participating in efforts to educate and guide consumers to purchase olive oil from trusted sources through the national campaign launched by the Ministry of Agriculture earlier this month, with the participation of government regulatory authorities.

He praised the role played by the ministry, represented by Minister of Agriculture Dr. Saeb Al-Kharaysat, in supporting and protecting the olive and olive oil sector, describing it as a distinctly national and strategic product.
