VANCOUVER, Wash. (KATU) — Police say a 22-year-old who is accused of shooting an employee at a Vancouver restaurant last month after getting upset over his food order has been arrested in Yakima, court records indicate.
The shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. on September 4 at a Hawaiian food restaurant on NE Fourth Plain Boulevard.
The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the back. He is expected to recover.
Vancouver Police investigators reviewed surveillance video of a man, later identified as Jesus Garcia – who also goes by “Carlos Ramiro,” both upset inside the restaurant when a food order wasn’t there, and 15 minutes later outside the restaurant. The video shows the suspect pulling out a gun and shooting the employee in the back near the dumpsters.

Detectives got a warrant for Garcia’s arrest on a charge of attempted murder.
Garcia was arrested by Yakima Police on October 15 on unrelated charges. Authorities say he will be extradited to Clark County at some point to face the attempted murder charge.
A probable cause document for Garcia’s arrest states that Yakima Police had identified him as a “documented Norteno gang member” affiliated with a set out of that city.
Court records indicate past juvenile felony convictions for motor vehicle theft and tampering with a witness.
