Ingredients

  • ½ of Basic Meat Sauce recipe
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano or 2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 4 tablespoons coffee
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

    Preparation

    1. To the basic meat sauce mixture add the remaining ingredients.
    2. Simmer about 1 hour, until the mixture is thick.
    3. Sauce can be refrigerated up to three days or frozen for longer.
