Anyone had any experience with wines from Churchill?

I can’t recall how I acquired this. I also have a 2013 Cab Sauv which I haven’t opened. I think they direct emailed or messaged me is some way and I thought I’d try a couple bottles. Maybe instagram?

PN was $69 a bottle and CS was $89 if memory serves me correctly. Very, very small production at around 25 cases for the PN. Single vineyard. I love supporting small winemakers like this when the juice is great!

I don’t drink much PN but was in the mood for something different tonight so I thought I’d open up this bottle. I actually think this is a pretty beautiful wine and feel it’s priced appropriately. Nice nose of strawberry or strawberry rhubarb with a hint of mushroom and umami. It seems to be 100% PN; it’s pale ruby in color.

Alcohol at 14.2% and I think it’s very balanced with a medium body. Acidity while present is not over bearing ,and provides good structure. Likely this could age for several years. Fruit doesn’t seem too ripe thanks to the cool climate. Very approachable at this age IMO and quite the treat. Similar to some burgundies I’ve had.

Curious how it performs on day 2….

Sorry for the mediocrity in my tasting notes….perhaps someday my palate will be refined and nuanced enough to provide something more sexy, nuanced, and entertaining notes!
