Had a tough time finding anything on the nose. I’ve been getting over the holiday sickness for a week now, so possibly me, possibly just restrained nose. The palate however is very fun! Jammy red fruits, strawberry, leather, fading hints of a bitter dirt note on the finish. Doesn’t that sound delicious? Luckily a lively acidity and just enough tannins balanced this wine out nicely. Over 2 hours of drinking, the wine opened up and became much more vibrant.
Pairing chocolate and wine is never a bad idea to me. Never had these blueberry frozen snacks before, but they made a great wine even better. Highly recommend both!
