  1. We had them at my former company. They are sold directly to companies, not to individual persons.

  2. The capsules are different on purpose so they can’t buy them anywhere other than Nespresso, or use them at home.

These are the business version, and they’ve been around for a long time, in some iteration. Due to their shape, you can buy and store more capsules in smaller packaging. Another is to prevent stealing – employees can’t take them to use them in their home machines.

  4. What’s the consensus on the Professional line? Does it taste any different/better?

  5. For a second I thought you had a Nespresso washer and dryer combo with a soap pack

  6. I saw them at a company in the very early 2000s … So yeah, they’ve been around for a long time. It’s a good system as employees tend to “borrow” capsules for home use… They only sell those machines to businesses (and they’re also quite expensive compared to consumer machines).

My real question – does the Leggero taste like Bianco Leggero?!?

Pro machines can be purchased on the Nespresso website, even by individuals. Check the Professional or Business sections, they have a smaller machine called the Zenius.

This is the Nespresso Momento 200 (MSRP around $5k)

They also make an NM100 (one brew head) and NM120. Also 1 brew head but has milk fridge to make cappuccinos/Late’s/Macchiato’s etc.

The professional line are engineered to handle a much higher workload than the home units, up to hundreds of coffees per day.

Source: I sell these machines. Ask me any questions and I’ll do my best to answer.

It bugs me that they have these professional machines that take different capsules. I heard it was to prevent stealing the capsules but I’m not sure about that. Anyway, we had one at work that someone brought in. When their supply of capsules ran out I looked into getting more. Nespresso requires a business account to purchase them. (And our place was not going to do that). I did get some knock offs from Amazon but then they removed the machine!

We had one of these at work about 10+ yrs and N would provide the machine with a minimum order of capsules/month which i don’t remember how many was the agreement for. It worked out fine because the dept was large and almost all liked the coffee and bought capsules.

I mean, a Nespresso washing machine would definitely save me time in the mornings.

  17. a couple years ago i worked at an office that had a professional nespresso vending machine. it was pretty big and you’d buy one capsule at a time and brew it right there. it was pretty neat!
