  1. Followed the recipe and instructions BUT made a delicious blueberry shortcake without the limoncello. I did use Florida natural lemonade to make the simple syrup instead of water. I also used a single spring form pan, as I didn't have the individual forms, delicious and presented well! I will try the strawberry shortcake next time with the limoncello! FYI, it's blueberry season here …

  8. Really like this. I grow my own strawberries. Hour and a half? That seems long. Always add vanilla. Too much cream than I am used to. I always add lemon juice to the cream. The short cake just plain. A little different. But probably same taste profile. I don't like the cake soaked. I will admit, I use a Strawberry pie fill sauce,in place of making jam. I can make a Strawberry shortcake much quicker. In a matter of minutes. Just as good. Good whipping cream in a spray can, just as good. You male it look so good your way. But no one complains here, about my way. Walking to my garden, half the battle. I don't buy strawberries. Strawberry shortcakes are easy. Watering my garden every day, not so easy. I will tell you what, my cabbages are getting growing huge right now. My wife is Polish so cabbage soups her thing. So some for luck, with coins in it. Corned beef and cabbage, her favorite to make. Comforting as a dessert to me. She is not much of a desert person. But my grandmother, from Warsaw was. I have her recipe cards, from the laye 1900s. But one of her creations, carrot cookies. Using carrot baby food, with sour cream icing. Now that, is a great cookie. Just saying. You can figure it out. I will say. Very addictive. Make at your own risk. A sugar cookie recipe works. I may publish, her written recipe cards. She taught me a good lemon pie recipe. I make it once in a while. I eat the whole thing.

  10. I made this with store bought whipped cream and put them in the fridge. They came out a few hours later all mushy and you couldn’t even see the whipped cream. I am going to try making them with home made whipped cream.

  11. Everybody' has eaten strawberry shortcake – a round cake at the bottom of a bowl, topped with strawberries and whipped cream. Chef JP's takes strawberry shortcake to a new dimension. It is a bit time consuming to make, but well worth it. I assure you!
