✅Ingredients

BASIC APPLESAUCE:
• 5 pounds apples: combination of McIntosh, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, and Jonathan
• 1/2 cup water
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick

OPTIONAL ADD INS:
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

✅Instructions

00:00:09 – What kind of apples to use in homemade applesauce

BASIC APPLESAUCE
1️⃣ 00:00:34 – Peel, core, and slice apples into small chunks. Transfer to a large saucepan or pot.

2️⃣ 00:01:21 – Add in water, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let simmer 20-30 minutes until apples are soft.

3️⃣ 00:01:40 – Puree using a blender, food processor, or immersion blender for a smoother applesauce.

OPTIONAL ADD INS
1️⃣ 00:02:06 – For sweetened applesauce, return pureed applesauce to pan. Stir in brown sugar and continue to cook, uncovered, until the applesauce thickens, about 10 minutes.

2️⃣ 00:02:15 – For a more flavorful, dessert type applesauce, stir in butter, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until butter is melted.

SERVING AND STORAGE
Serve warm or cold, or freeze or can using proper canning procedures for later use. Applesauce will stay good refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

  4. i have been making homemade applesauce for many years. it is best when you use cinnamon, brown sugar and honey

  5. there was a lot of good apple on those cores! I would use an apple cutter that perfectly cuts the core without leaving too much apple on

  6. I used one each of 10 apples, put each thru the peeler/corer/slicer, then into my 3-quart Instant Pot along with a half cup of water and 2 cinnamon sticks. Five minutes under pressure, slow release and it was done. Removed the cinnamon sticks then used a manual potato masher to get the consistency that I wanted. No added sugar!

  7. The best applesauce you will have is, wash apples take stem out, put whole in a baking container bake until get some browning, cool then puree, you are welcome. Purée seeds and skin.

  8. My grandma brought so many apples and they are already half rotten so I'm going to try to salvage them

  11. Short, direct and easy to follow instructions … great video.
Might think about adding some options for the leftover cores and peels of the apples.

  12. I want to use my apples from my only have a delicious but they aren't ripened had to pick most of the apples before the
parrots ate all of the apples.
Can I use apples that are not ripe yet
Iam stewing them anyway having them for breakfast .

  13. I like to keep some unsweetened and make rork tenderloin with apple sauce, rest I sweeten, half I add lots cinnamon… I use a tool to get core out so I get a lot more apple. Tyvm. Been long time since saw this but was on homescreen lol
