Granny’s Traditional Blackberry Cobbler – 100 Year Old Recipe – Extra Yummy! – The Hillbilly Kitchen Black berry cobbler is a family tradition that spans generations.

Blackberry Cobbler is a delicious, healthier choice if you’re looking for a fantastic dessert that the whole family is sure to love without feeding them High Fructose Corn Syrup or Mono-sodium Glutamate.

You can pick your blackberries yourself, or you can buy them at the farmer’s market or grocery store. Even frozen blackberries taste great in a blackberry cobbler.

From the time I can remember I picked blackberries with my mom, my granny and my aunt Dot. Blackberry cane briars can really be painful! The briars are hooked and they can break off in your skin. We used to go home after picking blackberries and pick the briars out of our skin. Be careful if you’ve never picked them.

Remember to Put God First!
LUKE 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Ingredients:

4 cups – Blackberries

  3. I have made this 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It's so simple and delicious. 2 times I didn't have enough blackberries. One time I added frozen pitted cherries and the other time frozen raspberries. I love your recipes and am so glad I found you. Very blessed.

  4. I’ve got some black raspberries out back that I saw yesterday. I was thinking what I could cook with them. This cobbler looks like a recipe my gram would have made.

  5. That looks so good but I remember the berries being much deeper when my Granny made it. I would double the 4 cups to 8. Thanks for bringing back the recipes we grew up with.

  6. If a person loves the things they own that's as bad as loving money. We have to love God above anything or anybody.

  7. This was my mothers mother and my mother's grandmother's absolute favorite dessert and I sure miss all 3 of those ladies❤️

  8. I suppose I can make your recipe with my gluten free flour blend although I know it won't be as good. I just can't tolerate wheat gluten I blow up with fluid.

  9. Thank you. I love that you say God is first. Yes Jesus is coming soon. It's all about Jesus, he played it all for us on the cross shed his precipice blood for our sins died rose again on the 3rd day according too scripture. And you shall be saved if you believe in your heart . It's a heart condition. It's all about Jesus and our personal relationship with our lord and savior. Thank you. So happy too have found your channel.

  10. I love your videos. Your story on this one really reminds me of my grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins doing things together just like what you were talking about. I also love the good messages about our lord and savior Jesus Christ! Thank you.

  11. Sounds so familiar except it was my Dad that always took all of us kids berry picking. Didn't thrill me at the time but such good memories and I did the same with my children, I still go picking. Actually our son did a lot of it this year, he went out through the fields about every other day for over a month picking mullberries, black caps and blackberries. Yesterday I made two batches of blackberry jam, yumm. Looking forward to trying out your Grannys recipe. Your sweet, love the Scripture reading at the end. 💝😊💝

  12. I made this last night, It came out great. I had to cook it for about an extra 10 minutes, but it was so good. technically the first thing i could consider baking.

  13. My family did the exact same thing. It was great. I remember my mom telling us to look out for snake's. The cobbler was so good

  14. Finally, a dessert that I can eat that has no sodium in it except in the egg and butter and I could always use unsalted butter! Being on a sodium restricted diet is making me crazy and I’ve been dying for something sweet! 😫
    Thank you!

  15. I' m from the eastern panhandle of WV. My Mom and I used to go down to our berry spots on the banks of the Potomac river and pick blackberries. Lots of critters down there but we would fill a buck with berries. At home Mom would make a delicious blackberry pie and on Sunday a cobbler to take to my grandmother's house for Sunday dinner. Good memories . Thank you and God bless you.

  16. Oh i have some great memories of WV and NC blackberries, ones that grow wild in FL taste different! Rain?
