Recipe here: http://www.joyofbaking.com/CoconutCreamPieRecipe.html Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Coconut Cream Pie. This Coconut Cream Pie takes a buttery crisp prebaked pastry crust and fills it with a coconut flavored cream. The crowning touch to this American favorite is lots of whipped cream and a sprinkling of toasted coconut. Very appealing, very comforting, and very tasty.

  1. You can also take a little of the coconut warm milk and temper de egg mix than you pour it in to the bowl thats on your stouve it saves you some unnecerary movementns there, thats how normally a lot peopple does it, and it is actually MUCH MORE easier if you use a wire wisk to stir it up in stead of a spatulla to disolve the lumps.

  2. My grandmother made this but meringue had sugar beads on on it. Any idea how to do that

  3. Oohlala! This looks delectable. Can't wait for the weekend to make it. Stephanie you are a perfectionist . You embolden viewers to confidently go ahead and try your recipe. Every one of your recipes I've tried has been 100% perfect and appreciated well. Thank you so much, Stephanie!

  4. This looks so good, I can’t wait to try making it. I instructions are so clear and easy to follow and I really appreciated that you took the time to include metric measurements too. Thanks you for sharing.

  5. Have you ever tried using coconut oil instead of butter in the custard ? It might bump up the coconut flavor.

  6. I know most recipes say let it chill a couple hours before serving, and that's accurate, you could, but I'll tell ya, Lord have mercy, does pies like this, (any custard based pie), tastes SO GOOD the longer they sit! Ugh! Trust me, make it a couple days before, and you'll never serve it the same day you make it again! I don't know why that is. The first time I discovered this, I didn't plan it, we had a family emergency and we couldn't eat the pie the same day as we often do and it sat 3 days in the fridge! So much better. Just make sure you have a really good, cold refrigerator.👌

  7. I love your English
I am Mexican, and I need very clear instructions and not speaking so fast.
Thank you for your recipe and the way you explained it.
I will bake this pie next weekend!

  8. How would you thin out the filling if you wanted to eat it like a custard/pudding ( without the pie crust)? I made it today and it's a little too firm. Thank you for the recipe.

  9. Thank you for the clear instructive video. I have been looking for days for a recipe that I can make a sugar free coconut cream pie using cashew milk to replace the other milk and a sweetener instead of sugar. Would you know if it would still thicken up using cashew milk in the recipe you used?

  10. Cant wait to try this, looks very good. I have a question though, is it possible to combine all filling ingredients in one pot (properly whisking) prior to cooking rather than all the bowls and tempering of the eggs?

  11. Going to make this today!! Looks delicious! I love your clear, instructions!! If I wanted to do banana coconut cream pie, do you put custard , bananas, custard, bananas layered then whip cream on top?

  14. Hi Stephanie, I have seen other Coconut Cream Pie Recipes on YouTube. I must say I like your's the best. It does NOT have a lot of sugar. This recipe is one I can make for my diabetic boyfriend. Coconut Cream pie is one of his favorites. I'll change out the baked pie crust for Graham Cracker crust. He'll be so thrilled!! Thank you!!

  15. I tried this recipe for my Husband's birthday 6 years ago. He loved it and since then I've always made it for him for his birthday. Thank you for the demonstration! 💕

  16. Hi Stephanie, made the Coconut Cream pie for our Christmas dessert. I made the pie yesterday and made the whipped cream topping just before dinner. It is amazing. I substituted the baked pie crust for a graham cracker crust. I didn't have enough chocolate Graham crackers and added a package of no bake crust and added 1/4 cup of coca powder. I did put rum in the filling. It' s to bad I cannot add a photo of my pie. It turned out great Thank you very much Stephanie.

  17. love your videos because they are easy and your presentation is great. I am making this delicious pie today. Tracey from Austin Tx.

  18. I've bought expensive pure vanilla extract and dollar tree artificial vanilla extract and I find no difference
