  3. I've never made a pie before…I followed your steps and it turned out fantastic….was a hit for my little one (he got seconds). I didn't have lemon on hand, but I had lime and used that instead. I made the lattice and did the braided rope border; that took waaaay tooooooo loooong! Definitely keep it a skinny-flat-braid for the border instead and use a wide lattice. I made roses by hand….there's a much easier way than to individually cut them like I did, see link. Thanks for the great directions!

  4. I'm sorry, but I lol when you burnt yourself. It is a regular joke in my home that I will either burn myself or cut myself while cooking…sometimes both…sometimes really bad…think stitches and antibiotics. Never quit though, I have 2 boys, 14 and 22, that think I'm the best cook in the world (ha). I love that your recipes are for normal people and easy to follow instructions!

  10. Has anyone used frozen blueberries for this? I do know he mentioned using more if they're frozen, but wondering if they have to be thawed first or ok to go in frozen.

  11. I made this pie. It slid off the cookie sheet and onto the kitchen floor when i was putting it back in without the foil. I rescued a scoop of it that wasn't touching the floor with a spatula. It was so tasty, and so so sad.

  13. First time viewer, and just in time. My wife's favorite pies are blueberry ones, and it's Mother's Day, so I'm surprising her. Followed this recipe to the letter, and it's in the oven now. So excited to have it tonight. With the leftover dough, I cut them into strips, pressed the strips into sugar, twisted them like bread twists, then topped with parmesan cheese!

  18. thanks. I didn't cook my pie long enough, afraid it would burn, i didn't tent it with foil. now that i have a runny pie, Can i recook it? put it back in the oven and try to firm it up?

  19. I've used this recipe for all my fresh fruit pies and it always turns out great. 😋 I find that you don't need to eggwash the outside crust (just the top) because it gets a little too brown for my taste. I have a blueberry pie waiting to go in the oven ..can't wait!
