My MIL died at 94, she didn’t have “fancy” seasonings like garlic. She used tomatos she canned, seeds & all, she mashed it up so a little chunky like Bisque, no skin.
Homemade is The Best.
The day she died she made chicken & dumplings for her boys. And the best Chocolate Pound Cake ever.

For years, I would make chili with my garden tomatoes and onions. As well as other soups. Now it seems that I only grow tomato plants for the deer to eat. 🙁
