  1. I think I know which soup I'm going to have at Thanksgiving, besides my French onion that I make every year.

  2. This looks delicious. Not having corn stock, I guess I will substitute with water. Wonder if it freezes?

  3. My grandma made something like this but she used celery too and fried it with the onions and butter in a pan before adding it to the chowder.

  4. Made this over the weekend followed the recipe exactly except for dried thyme instead of fresh. I also made the corn stock. WOW it was delicious!!! It was so sweet fresh and corn tasting. Cant believe the difference between fresh vs frozen!

  5. Making this RIGHT now, I used a combo of corn stock and chicken. Dried thyme. First soup of the football/fall season!! 😍

  6. Looks like a warm , filling and rather inexpensive dish to make for a large family. Somehow I always thought there was more to this dish?

  7. I don’t know why they call this a summer dish. I’ve only ever eaten this hardy chowder in the winter… ya know, like all other chowders.

  8. Watched her many times & I have noticed everytime she mix all her ingredients, she doesn’t waste her leftovers… either baking or making sauce’s she scrapes everything!!!! That’s me Martha!❤

  9. Tried this tonight for me and my husband. Dint bother too much about proportions. But it came out awesome. I used milk instead of half and half and used the hand blender right in the pot and made the entire soup coarse. Superb. Thanks for the recipe.
