Here, our food team leader, Mia, joins Olivia to show us how to prepare quick blinis – the perfect festive canape to impress your guests with this season. Forget shop bought versions of these Russian pancakes when they can be ready this quick!

✅ Blinis
Self-raising flour | 1 cup
Egg | 1 piece
Milk | 1 cup
✅ Toppings (adjustable based on preference)
Crème fraîche (fresh cream) | 200ml
Smoked salmon | 100g
Fresh dill | 15g
Lemon | 1 piece
Salt & pepper | to taste

  1. There were a life saver for me this NYE all the supermarkets were out of blinis, so I gave this recipe a go. I was very impressed with how quick and easy they were to make. Canapes have been saved. Hooray! Happy New Year!

  5. The recipe under video translated Creme Fraiche as Fresh Cream – that’s not what creme fraiche is, it’s more akin to sour cream

  6. Just use a table spoon, you don’t need all that stuff. Non stick pans are toxic, btw. Stainless steel, pyrex, enamelled cast iron are better.
