Small question for the muslims, do i have to put in liquor?
No whipped cream doesn't grow on trees but it does grow in cold bowls!!!
what's the difference between shortcakes and scones?
Thank you John
I tried this with my niece and they came out perfect. 🤗
I tried but my dough ended up like softer and they didn't cooked well, what did I do wrong??? 😭😭😭
Ps. I did your carrot cake recipe and it was awesome 😍
What happens when you overwhip? And why do you add vanilla to it last? I’m sincerely curious and love to learn. The why helps me remember.
Yum! 😋
I just made this and my kids are doing a happy dance! 😂 thank you so much for the recipe it was easy and delicious!
It’s been a year but I still love this recipe
If you use a sponge cake is it still strawberry shortcake ? I’ve seen “strawberry shortcake” in bakery’s and they use cake. This is my mom’s favorite and I want to surprise her on her birthday next month
How is it different from regular biscuit???
Ehh. You annoy me.
Can we get a link for your pastry mat please?
Question from a random non english person: what's the difference between shortcake biscuit and scones ?
I see other bakers don't use egg for shortcake. But will try this recipe
thank you for the recipe! delicious and easy to make, though I find it a bit easier (and less messy) to not sandwich the biscuits and just make them a bit thinner
How do you get the words to pop up and go?
400 or 425?
Recipe calls for 400 you said 425 so I go 400 written
So made these followed to the t. Disappointed very much. I have strawberries in frig will have to do something else with them
This man has saved me so many times its incredible. Thank you <3
So it's called shortcake, but what you've made there looks more like a scone, yet you refer to it as a biscuit / cookie?! Oh boy, am I confused.
can the dough for the scone be frozen?….or other wise once baked, how can the scones last a while?
In the fridge or freezer?
Can I exchange Orange Extract for orange liqueur? I'm teaching a baking class for students, and the (VERY delicious) orange liqueur would be frowned upon….Sigh.
Can we substitute the kosher salt with normal salt?
The video said 1and 1/2 TBSP of baking powder. Written recipe said 1TBSP of baking power and 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Video said 1/2 C of butter written recipe says 1C that’s a huge difference. Temperature video 425 written 400? That’s a lot of discrepancies btw the video and written recipe. Come on!
Is it okay to use frozen strawberries, and do they need to be thawed. Anyone ??
Thank you so much for putting the grams measurements, Europe and US measure totally differently so it helps a loooot!!
Good recipe. I gained weight because of this.

THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 ÀMÀZING LOVELY 🍓🍓🍓🍓S ,❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜
No spoon to mix strawberries? Surprised u didn't grab the berries with your hand 4 a fistful during assembly and another fistful of cream. I c u eat it with your hands. Brute dessert. Jeez
Powdered buttermilk changed that for me!
You can use dry buttermilk that has a longer shelf life than a carton of buttermilk you put in the fridge.
Hi John, LOVE your cooking methods! I enjoy watching your videos with my granddaughter and we bake together some of your recipes. I made this last night with fresh berries (I'm in Florida…end of the strawberry season)..The printed recipe says 1 cup butter, the video says 1/2 cup butter…the video says 1.5 TBS baking powder, and the printed recipe says 1 TBS baking powder and 1/2 tsp soda. Mine didn't turn out so good, everyone said they tasted great, but they didn't raise. Any advice? Thank you!
I just love all your recipes and the way you show us step by step instructions on how to , one question do you ever use dry buttermilk in your recipes and where can I purchase those copper measuring cups. 👨🏻🍳👨🏻🍳👨🏻🍳👨🏻🍳🫶🏼👵🏼
it sys really upset. How much butter. In the video you say 1/2cup of butter. In written instructions it says 1 cup of butter. In the written directions it says baking soda in the video you say only baking powder. ugh They are in the oven now but they didn't seem right
Your videos are so wholesome 😊
Hey John cottonell l I like your cookie
Man…these biscuits is slap your mamma good!! Hmmm..so good! Thank you😊
Cream= heavy cream????
