  1. How durable is the enamel coating on the cast iron pot. The soup looks good, might try that tomorrow. The mesquite seasoning, red river mud & salsa where a hit with daughter in Iowa!

  2. We watched this video today and now my hubby wants me to make this so we will get the supplies this weekend. Love all of your videos. We saw you guys at Silver Dollar City where you were showing the way to make better pinto beans. Have made mine the way you recommend since.

  3. Oh man, ya'll are awesome!! I am a fairly new sub (6month's) but have all your videos saved in Watch Later so I can catch up! Any cooking classes coming up any time soon?

  4. LOVE seeing y'all together on this show. You are awesome Kent~ but your show is MORE awesome with her in the pic. Thanks y'all!

  5. This sounds good. The really old fashioned tomato soup like my grandma made didn't have herbs in it. It had spices like allspice and cloves, and a little sugar.

  6. Love you guys!!!

    Question re: Lodge enameled pots…

I bought a Lodge enameled Dutch oven 8-10 years ago and was terribly disappointed to learn they were made in China.

I cooked with it for only a few weeks before the interior enamel got etched and stained… which shouldn't happen with glass!

#1) Where are they made now, and

#2) are they any better / have you had etching issues?

  7. Ok look everytime you remove your hat and honor our vets, I get something in my eye 😎 Thank you sir

  8. I used to use a different recipe but tried this and it’s the best tomato soup recipe I’ve made. Thanks for the content. Love the videos.

  9. Could you guesstimate how many people this is for? Cans of tomatoes, believe it or believe it not, are actually kind of expensive here. But also, believe it or not, it is hard to buy even Campbells here and I am craving tomato soup these days! So I am thinking of making this myself but I am trying to think how many I need!

Edit – sorry, I went to the webpage and saw this is enough for ten people, so I will go from there, thanks!

  10. Does Shannon wear weighted boots so she doesn't get blown away by your Oklahoma wind? I live in SE Virginia, surrounded by open pastures where the wind blows most of the time. I'm in training so I can visit Oklahoma.

  11. I just bought a portable gas range like yours just for cast iron cooking. You cain't cook good on an electric range. We made the best potato latkes for Hannukah we have ever made using our new cast iron skillet and gas range. I know it's hard to believe but there are Southern Jews that are good ole country folks. Cowboy cooking is what real men and hairy legged women do.

  12. Thank you both for teaching us how to cook, but thank you more for teaching us how to have good and obedient to God marriages. I already knew how to cook, the other part I hadn't figured out yet.

  13. I make the soup and was delicious thank you very much and I love your place I looks peaceful. Thank you for take care of the dogs. Blessings. 🙏❤️

  14. The soup is orange tinted because of the blender, for anyone wondering. For whatever reason tomatoes like to turn orange when blended.

  15. I like to fry up some bacon and chop em up and add to it. grated carrots and chopped celery
