  1. Ingredients:
    Melted butter, for greasing
    Cocoa powder, for dusting
    55g chocolate chips
    55g butter
    50g icing sugar
    1 large egg
    1 egg yolk
    25g plain flour
    1tsp cocoa powder
    Icing sugar, for dusting

    1) Preheat your oven to 200°C/ Gas Mark 6/ 180°C (fan)

    2) Grease the inside of 2 ramekins with the melted butter and dust them with cocoa powder.

    3) Microwave the chocolate chips and butter together in a bowl, stirring every 2 minutes until melted and smooth.

    4) Add the icing sugar and mix until combined.

    5) Add the egg and the egg yolk and mix them in.

    6) Add the flour and cocoa powder and stir until just combined.

    7) Bake for 12-13 minutes.

    8) Let it stand for 2 minutes.

    9) Flip it over onto a plate.

    10) Dust it with icing sugar.

    11) Enjoy!

  2. The oven is still the best prevailed way to bake. You really lose that much flavour in the microwave, not to mention that it's really not healthy it's just not advantageous.

  3. Uncooked batter in the centre! yuck. Molten lava is by using chocolate stuffed in the middle before baking.

  4. oh my goodness. GUYS. LAVACAKES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE RAW IN THE CENTER AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE GANACHE IN THE CENTER. And I don't mean at the same time! I just mean you can cook it both ways and they would both be perfectly safe to eat molten lava cakes. Out of the two options, one way is not "more correct" than the other. That's like debating whether right hand dominance is better than left hand dominance

  5. You guys need to know the center is not raw batter, it just hasn’t been solidified yet and that’s perfectly fine, that’s what makes it a LAVA cake
