While walking down the streets in Naples, I’m sure one of the local restaurant would have tuna puttanesca on their menu. It is a simple and delicious recipe. I haven’t had the privilege of travelling Italy, but if I did, part of my motivation would be the food. Tuna puttanesca would certainly be one of the foods that I would target.

Mediterranean food is always one of my favourites. There is just something about it. Whether it be the mixture of oils, garlic, and fresh vegetables or something else. Perhaps the seafood.

Tuna puttanesca in its simplicity is filled with incredible flavours. One I highly recommend.

  1. Hi Dave. Looks delicious, but for me, I would substitute the tuna for salmon. Great video. Stay safe and Blessed 🙏.

  2. Dave my friend , great recipe, did you get a chance to try the brand of tuna " Bumble bee"?, it is only .20 cents more a can but is better than all other brand names like starkist, chicken of the sea, etc…you can get chunk light or albacore packed in water or oil. They have a liner in their can that prevents that tinny taste. The 2 girls will eat this, just about any kind of salad/pasta. btw, if you add a couple of anchovies in the pan 1st, they will dissolve, no fishy taste at all in your meal like when they come out of the jar, give a great umami flavor, try it once, the 2 girls won't eat them out of the jar, but they have never tasted them when in a recipe dish. God bless, keep your stick on the ice, see you at the lodge, lol.

  3. Anything you make is fabulous and delicious. I use anchovies….it's so Italian! You've made me so hungry…I'm going to try the tuna. 👍

  4. Hey Dave. Sorry I'm a little late. My phone decided I needed a new one and fell in the sink with water. So didn't have one for a couple days. Then had to charge it then figure out where everything was. Never can have one more than 2 years. Anyway this looks good. I don't think I would eat anchovies either.

  5. Must try this I have a hard time finding tuna in oil at our stores here I guess I could use the in the water one right

  6. I love Dale Underdue's idea of using salmon instead of tuna. I love puttanesca and this is simple delicious recipe!

  7. I made yesterday. Everyone liked. I will make again. Thanks for recipe.

  8. Looks great but I think it would be better with fusilli or shells macaroni, the sauce would cling to the pasta better.

  9. Wonderful recipe ! David, the nice part of using anchovies is that they cook down and disappear into the oil and all you taste is the savory flavor. Just like from Worcestershire sauce. I hate anchovies raw on pizza! The tuna adds protein which completes the meal.
