Homemade pho is not some coveted secret. You can make your pho taste just as good if not better than your favorite restaurant by using a little technique. The result being a rich yet clean tasting fragrant broth with lots of fatty and chewy textures. It’s everything you want in a bowl of soup.

  1. Pho Hanoi is very different from pho Saigon… And I'm a Saigon fan.
Though the only real difference (if the broth/soup is of the same great quality) is what you can add to the bowl.

  2. Legit? Might be, might be not, depends on who you ask (not my mom, my dad, my sister, my brother, my 5 uncles, my 8 aunts, or almost any of my friends in Vietnam), but yeah to be fair this is pretty good pho you have made. There are over 100 millions of our people around the world, and even among ourselves we can't seem to agree what the undisputed "perfect pho" is. So man you are getting overconfident now, a littleb bit. It's like making a random plate of pasta then going to a random street in Italy and declaring that said pasta is "perfect". For me personally, at first glance at the thumbnail, the width of the pho and the meat, those are not like what I've been eating growing up.

  3. Hi Joshua, i'm vietnamese so i'm verry apreciate you for making Pho which is our country's food , it's looks good so keep it going man!!

  4. In vietnam, Pho only cost about 40k-50k VND, about 2 bucks and you will have a fucking delicious breakfast

  5. wheres the green onion?????????????? as a vietnamese, your bowl of phở needs at least enough green onion to cover the whole bowl but the rest is fine

  6. to be honest, it still lacks sth called "hành củ", which is spring onion that is chopped vertically, without it, pho may not have its true flavor

  7. Pho is good BUT I hate it kinda bc of celantra an bc of some reason 1 I hate cell traffic and cell traffic makes me feel sick for 3 days straight

  8. I just had surgery, and the only thing I can have is liquids, so I'm definitely going to try this recipe. My local Pho restaurant is delicious, but I've just got to try and make it myself : )

  9. Season the broth with fish sauce while its cooking! It will taste more harmonious and you can still adjust seasoning after you're done cooking as well 🙂
