EASY CHALLAH RECIPE:

It will yield 2 medium challah

BREAD Flour: 500g or 3cups+ 2 TBSP ( if you dunk your cup in the flour) but 4 cups and 1tbsp if you spoon and level to measure your cups of flour While measuring your flour
SALT: 10g /2 rounded tsp
SUGAR: 8 g or 2 tsp ( you can easily double the amount of sugar to have a sweet challah : you will not need to adjust any ingredients but the rising time can be a bit slowed-down: you may add 10 minutes to the 1h30-2h rising time)
OIL ( I like using sunflower oil) 80g or 1/3 cup
Warm water: 95g or 6 tbsp
Eggs: 2

To proof the yeast
95g warm water/ 6 tbsp
8g of yeast 2 rounded tsp
4 g of sugar / 1tsp

  2. I would love to send you my bbq sauce you can change the spice to sweet to spices and it goes in a clean jar and into the fridge.

  3. Ok Sarah…. I followed your recipe and it did great! No peeking. Perfect at 30min. I have to admit the amount of water was misleading as it was too wet. So I would say just add 1tbsp water at a time as it mixes and absorbs the water gradually.

  4. Fluff is fluff! Your recipe is great. I hope I will find the amount off eggs, oil and water. Thank you.

  5. Fluff is fluff and I am fluffy.
Your detailed and joyfully delivered directions are really giving me the confidence to give this recipe a try. Anxious to try and discover how freshly baked challah will taste.

  6. A tip if you can’t get bread flour you can add a tablespoon of seitan at every hundred Gramm of all purpose floor.

  7. Fluff is fluff. I am Christian-Methodist-, but I have such admiration, respect and fascination for the Jewish religion. It is so beautiful in it’s dedication to God!❤

  8. Fluff is fluff. This is the first time that I have successfully made bread that was not a brick! Thank you thank you!!!!

  9. Thankyou! I'm Alicia and I'm 13,
When I started using your recipe for challah I was amazed as it was the best challah I've made!!! I don't use any other recipe. Thanks! Fluff is fluff ❤ BTW I'm doing this for shabbat tonight! Love from london

  10. I have learned that the key is to not add too much flour. The dough has to be sticky, and just come together when you knead it and work it with oiled hands and a bench scraper for about 10 minutes. It will develop enough gluten even if it's sticky. It will! If you add too much flour and keep working it until it resembles pasta dough, it will be very dense and you won't enjoy eating it at all. If you let it rise huge and overflow the bowl until it looks like a sponge, mine always stays flat once baked. It should rise 25% of what you expect, then punch it down and knead, divide into 6 equal pieces by weight and braid.

  11. Egg in bread???
I make very fluffy bread and never use eggs.
Adding the egg will make baking more challenging and yield a yeasty taste.

  12. Hello, i wanted to say thank
You for your video. I’ve seen many videos in search of a challah recipe and this has been the best, all the tips you share and is lovely to hear you through out it. I’m not Jewish but I love this bread and I’m excited to learn to make it for my family. Thanks again!
