Looking into getting my first pellet grill. Hoping not to spend more than $1500 ($1100 USD). Came across this BK Regal 400 at my local Lowe’s for $1040 Canadian (around $770 USD) as a display model clearance. Comes with a bag of Traeger pellets, grill brush and a generic cover.

Any thoughts on BK Pellet Grills? I’d be using it year-round in a chilly Canadian climate.

My cheap BK gas finally conked out on me this spring and 13 years of service and have exclusively used my Weber charcoal all summer. Love the smoke flavor of the Weber, but can’t stand how much I need to baby the coals and dampers for low-n-slow (especially for 6+ hour cooks!).

I initially gravitated to Traeger (specifically the Ironwood 650) when first looking into pellets, just given their popularity. But looks like other companies/products have surpassed them. Unfortunately, not a lot of info out there for Broil King. The size of the 400 works for my small family of 3.

TIA for any insights!

I have a bk pellet 400. I believe it’s the newer model of this exact one and I’ve seen it on sale for almost that same price. Might be worth a look around. That being said, I love the bk pellet I’m from Ontario just outside of Toronto and also grill year round. I dont have too many issues in the winter other than. Using more pellets, but the Temps still seem to hold fairly well. I’ve had mine now for almost 2 years and haven’t found any issues so far. Typical BK quality in a pellet version!

They make a solid pellet rig. I used to own one, I’m a big fan of Broil King. My only concern would be that the 400 might be a bit small. But that’s just me. Don’t get me started on Traeger…
