We challenged chefs of three different skill levels – amateur John, home cook Daniel, and professional chef Saúl Montiel from Cantina Rooftop – to make us their best caesar salad. Once each level of chef had presented their creations, we asked expert food scientist Rose to explain the choices each made along the way. Which caesar salad makes you want to ask “Et tu, crouton?”

Vegan caesar? Why even bother?
Grilled salad? Gordon Ramsay has entered the chat
When there is ever a video Saul speaking in Spanish
Can't stand John
craisens in Caesar salad? daniel, you feel bad about that decision.
Saul is my favorite
Please, when saying your making something, try to stay in the ball park of the recipe instead of going "My X is this".
SAUUUUUULLL!!!!
Not a little bit of lettuce lol
where are the recipes for each salad and dressing?
They need to taste each other’s food and give reviews
Poor Antonio, he was just chilling on his leaf
Everytime I see a grilled salad these days, I think about that Kitchen Nightmares episode where Gordon announced to the entire restaurant that the chef actually grilled the lettuce and everyone was so shocked lol. Also, I love how Saul always talks about how his cooking is influenced by his daughters.
Daniel's is the most appealing to me. A little fancy but nothing pretensious.
When the pro “accidentally” added 2 more anchovies I laughed out loud
Saul needs his own show on the Food Network
I like protein with my Ceaser, but I like #2's salad
3:48 Do not squeeze the avocado 4:30 proceeds to blend it
So that one dude is not making a ceaser salad.
He's making a garden salad.
4 levels green bean casserole!!!
I mean…John didn't even try in this one
Love the vegan/allergy friendly dressing options!
Saul is the best!
A vegan Caesar salad give me a break
Cranberries.. I just knew it
“This is why you wash your lettuce. Because you don’t want Antonio on your salad.” Saul is legit the best
Grilled Caesar salad…. Where is Gordon ???
Daniel's version all the way.
So in the end the lowest rated chef who bought most of his stuff pre-packed is the one who made what one would normally call a caesar salad. However, Daniel's vegan recipe looks tastier than I thought it'd be, and Saul is so charming that all is forgotten.
Saul dragging his wife, I cant 😂
Saul, olive oil to cook pancetta?
John is that one friend you have who swears he can cook and believes his garbage taste great. 🙄
I love Daniel making it vegan, thank you so much!!
Evev bagged lettuce should be washed, bagged lettuce has an oder to it.
Not one actual Caesar salad . . .
2 anchovies got there by accident😂😂
Saul holds up fancy Italian bacon the plant guy was like "i HaVe CrAnBerRy" 🤣
I love these videos! They are so fun and the commentary and camaraderie is so funny and enjoyable 🙂 thank you for these, super fun!
This is not caesar salad, you clowns
