Ingredients

Chicken Broth – The chicken broth is used to make the base of this creamy sauce. The chicken broth adds a nice subtle flavor of its own. In case, you want a vegetarian version, you can use vegetable broth too.

White Wine – It adds a sweet and fruity taste, to the buttery sauce. Use any wine that you wish to. You can skip adding white wine if you want to make it alcohol-free.

Milk – Use whole milk as it makes this lemon butter sauce rich and creamy. Do not use skim milk or low-fat milk, it won’t give the same result.

Butter – This sauce has a lot of butter. Do not compromise on this one, because it adds the best taste. Use good quality cold unsalted butter.

Flour – All-Purpose Flour is added to thicken the sauce. Flour is roasted lightly in the butter before pouring the melted butter into it.

Lemon Juice – Here is the star ingredient, Lemon Juice. It adds a nice tangy and zesty taste to the sauce, which makes it unique from other sauces. Use only fresh lemon juice. The bottled ones will not work in this recipe.

Other – Apart from the above ingredients you will need Garlic, Onion, Salt, Pepper, and Parsley. Fresh garlic adds a unique taste, but if you do not have the same you can add garlic powder too.

Finish off the sauce with parsley which adds a refreshing taste and also colour to this lemon butter sauce.

You can also add ¼ cup of shredded parmesan cheese at the end of cooking for a lovely umami flavor.

  1. Does this sauce refrigerate and reheat nicely? Or will it split if I kept it in the fridge to use the next time I made some food that pairs with it?

  2. Looks like a broken sauce at the end, thick layer of unemulsified fat floating on top. A whisk would have been the right tool, adding the butter by a few chunks at a time
