What is the substitute for mastic.?
My dry active yeast says it needs a certain water temperature and sugar. Will this be a problem if I don’t warm the water or add sugar? You have not done either in your recipe. I don’t see the yeast bubbles and it’s been half hour already.
Hi… What can I subsitute for hard flour? They only sell all purpose flour, cake flour and bread flour. Thanks..
In Greek tradition the braid is done with 3 strands to represent the holy trinity. Very symbolic at Easter time.

Pity the other recipe you gave for the traditional tsoureki does not stipulate mixing the water with the yeast first.
Thank you so much for your recipe Aki. I made the tsoureki (my first time ever and they smell and look great) however it wasn't sweet enough as it was difficult to measure the honey in grams. If it was in ml that would have helped. How much honey 106ml or 150ml? Also the sugar which is added to the aromatic spices is it tablespoon or a large scoop soup spoon (how much in grams?) In your video it looks more than a tablespoon. I was a little confused with the butter as well. The recipe doesn't outline under ingredients that 100g are pieces. Luckily I watched your videos and I realised when to add the melted and when to add the pieces. Sorry for the amount of questions but I would like to make it again to get it right. Thank you so much!

Το κακό είναι ότι βρίσκομαι εκτός Ελλάδος κι ήταν πολύ δύσκολο να βρω μαχλεπι και μαστίχα, ώστε να ξαναπροσπαθησω! Εξ ου και το " με κατέστρεψες "!!!!
