My grandma always did a sautéed broccoli rabe on top of pasta fagioli and I cannot find anyone else doing that, she sadly passed before I knew how to perfectly cook the broccoli rabe.

Fantastic Pasquale! I made this dish as Pasquale directed with these exceptions due to what I had in the pantry. I used Barrilla medium shells, 3/4 small white onion diced, broccolini, 1 tsp fennel seed, and 1/2 tsp dried oregano. I used 7 plum tomatoes cuz they were on the smaller side, and I topped it all off with Pecorino Romano rather than Parmesan Reggiano. If you are looking for an authentic Italian meal to warm your soul and make you smile long after the meal is over, then pick any one of Pasquale's many recipe videos and be amazed like I have been time and time again by this authentic amazing Italian comfort food.
