Homemade pancakes are truly a beautiful thing in the morning. Now the only issue is finding a recipe you want to stick to. The Japanese Souffle pancake, or the traditional American “flapjack”.

  1. Yeah it's maybe due to geographic bias that you claim the US version of "pancake" is the best when it's more of a flapjack.
Outside of US a pancake is considered to be flat and not something that rises, yet you've chosen two non flat "pancakes" to be the best…

  2. Making this recepie for my Boyfriend for his Bday today! Brb with review 😂😂

  3. In my opinion, your American style pancake recipe has too much flour. I think 1 or 1,5 cup per 1 egg is better. I followed your recipe and the result came out not so good. It was heavy and dry, not light and fluffy as I expected for pancake.

  4. INGREDIENTS (FLAPJACKS):

    – Wet –

    • 1 egg
    • 1½ cups / 386g of Milk
    • 2 tbsp / 26g of Butter (Melted and Cooled) * this goes to the very end of the mixture *

    – Dry –

    • 300g / 2 cups of All Purpose Flour
    • ¼ cup / 62g of Sugar
    • 1 tsp of Salt (fine sea Salt)
    • ¼ tsp / 1g of Baking Soda
    • 1 tbsp / 12g of Baking Powder

  5. Watched this a year or so ago for the traditional / American recipe. Haven't made or eaten pancakes of any other recipe since. They're just too perfect (and easy!).

  6. The regular pancake was perfect. This is my new go to. So easy and you don't need alot of ingredients. Lends themselves perfectly to add-ins as the don't take forever to cook but also let the add-ins sink in well. Not dense or think, not too fluffy or crumbly, just…perfect. Thanks alot!

  7. Came here to reclaim what was ours. The best pancakes are the European version. Not the shitty crepe. Pancake. Fill your entire plate kinda pancake. Top it with savory toppings like tomato sauce, tuna, olives, pineapple, capers, bacon, cheese, stuff like that if you don't want sweetness. And if you do want sweetness: pancake syrup beats the often watery maple syrup 10x over. Cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, chocolate sauce (or nutella if you're basic like that), chocolate sprinkles…
What do you mean "are you Dutch" how did you know?

  8. Thank you for this. I’ve never made pancakes in my life. Made these today for my wife and she loved them!! I know my wife well enough so I added 1Tbsp of home made vanilla extract and choc chips. So good.

  9. How do you make thick pancakes without them being raw? Every time I make thin pancakes they somehow end up raw in the middle🥲

  10. How high is you heat for pancaked if you go low and slow you can get them moist and kinda crispy on the very outside.

  11. I just made these American pancakes and they are the best ones I’ve made…definitely been over cooking them!

  12. I disappointed my whole family last week by using a recipe other than your traditional-style pancake. The lack of luster “thanks, mom…” from my children and the fact my husband's fork met his mouth at a leisurely pace attest to that fact. Today, I'm redeeming myself.

  13. The footage at the end is gorgeous.

I am making pancakes at a festival so happy I just found that ❤ thank you for helping me make many many people happy
