Very nice. For garlic in olive oil, I prefer not to cook or brown it, just cook it long enough when the oil starts to bubble. That’s all. Garlic taste can change rapidly. My thinking….

I seem to remember a version of Lidia's red sauce with a base of sauteed onions, garlic and pepperoncino — still using the crushed whole tomatoes and basil. But I can't find that video online — perhaps I just imagined it. Anyone else know about this?
