Traditional GREEK SALAD – How to make GREEK SALAD Recipe



After my son & his wife returned back to American, from honeymooning in GREECE, they shared their authentic GREEK SALAD eating experience with me & taught me now to make GREEK SALAD (just like the Greek do)!! Thanks to the honeymooners…I have mastered the perfectly traditional GREEK SALAD that is now a family favorite!! This healthy delicious GREEK SALAD, also know as HORIATIKI SALATA…is loaded with ripe tomatoes, cubes of cucumber, soaked slices of red onions, plump juicy kalamata olives, feta cheese, fresh lemon juice, drizzles of olive oil, and seasoned with oregano & pepper. Traditional GREEK SALAD

1 large cucumber, seeded & cubed
4 large roma tomatoes, cubed
1 medium red onion, sliced thinly, soaked in ice water for 10 minutes, and drained (this makes the onion sweet)
1/4-1/2 cup Fresh Italian Parsley, roughly chopped
1 cup (4 oz) Feta Cheese
1/4 cup Kalamata Olives, leave whole or half
1/4 cup olive oil
1 Fresh Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper

1. Add prepared tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, Italian parsley, kalamata olives, feta cheese into a large bowl. Drizzle olive oil, fresh lemon juice, oregano, and pepper over fresh vegetables and toss. Serve immediately & ENJOY!! -Deronda 🙂

    It looks good and delicious. But I feel the feta cheese has been mashed too much. I like it chunky !! However, I am not an expert in Greek cuisine, just sharing my opinion. Easy instruction and lovely presentation 👍🏻

    I love this stories! Im glad i click on your recipe, once I read about this American couple that went to Greece and looking for a place to eat they spotted a happy well illuminated terrace and walked in and they ordered what they recommended to them pairing with wine and when they couple asked for the check they told them that the house paid, that was a private greek party and left the table for them the whole time!
