Ah yes, lasagna’s cousin… or well not really but this is a much easier, arguably cheesier, casserole style pasta dish that is full of well… lots of cheese, rich meaty tomato sauce, and of course ziti pasta. But we are taking it several steps further to take it far beyond what it normally is.

  1. A wise man once said "When you perceive time nonlinearly, there is no such thing as "too soon" or "too late", there are only two words: BAKED ZITTI!"

  2. Love the Maine lobster rolls and as a Mainer I will say I'm glad you added it you representing us perfectly🌲

  3. LOL. Very entertaining, but I'm gonna use penne because I have a ton of it from Costco… so there. pbbbbft…

  4. pene in spanish means penis and since i grew up in mexico and speak fluent spanish i laghued so hard when he said baked pene

  5. Well, I couldn't find any ziti at central market, which is mind blowing because it's central market… so I got penne pasta instead. It's still going to be great i promise. But yes, obviously, ziti pasta would also be amazing in this dish. But I refuse to say it would be better. I think it's neck and neck.

  6. Most normal people aren't going to use the second option/recipe… money will restrict them for sure. don't get me wrong, the second is obviously going to be way better. But it's just not practical. That being said, your first recipe is absolutely awesome, and I literally put it in my personal recipe book, so thanks bro!!! I love your channel!!!!

  7. Instead of sugar, you can use a grated carrot. Tastes much better, too. To me, sugar absolutely RUINS sauce. And you DO NOT MEAN fresh mozzarella. You mean the kind in the package by the colby and muenster and cheddar, not the truly fresh mozzarella that we eat with tomatoes and basil. But I understand you mean freshly grated, different from fresh cheese that's grated.

  8. Where do you get your fancy ingredients? Online, that cheek pork guanciale is like $70 for 8 ounces? And Costco used to carry grana padano, but no more.

  9. he calls it a quattro formaggio but ricotta, scamorza, and grana padano is only three cheeses…

  10. Josh I am 50 from the Boston Area and know good food, You sir are a rock star, You should be running Food Network if it never turned into the shit show it is now, The only other network chef I can think of that compares to you would be Alton Brown…… AND CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR FUTURE WIFE HAPPY FOREVER AFTER !

  11. I told Rick, my parents' I like baked Ziti. He said he thought I said Baked dick. He had a dirty mind. I didn't want him. My mama told me, he cried a river when I acted like I didn't know he existed. Good!

  12. Nicki made a delicious Italian with no meat at a vegetarian temple. Before that I thought, no way am I eating vegetarian Italian.

  13. I had the good opportunity to make the "fancy" version for my dad and me. It was badass in the most delicious way possible. Thanks, Josh!

  14. we do this at our home (although a little bit simpler) but we call it macarronada. it's basically the exact same, rigattoni with ground pork and tomato sauce and a nice cheese crust on the top

  15. Are you really cooking if you don’t burn yourself at least once or twice 😂😂
