McIntosh apples make a traditional applesauce, but using a mix of varieties gives this recipe dimension. You can stir in up to three tablespoons of dark-brown sugar for a twist on this favorite dish.

  1. No Martha here—- no Martha's face, no Martha's voice, not even own her hands. Pointless to call it a Martha Stewart production, unless maybe she's unable to be in the vids for some reason these days— in that case I will be understanding. The name Martha Stewart and the face of Martha were intrinsically connected. A Julia Child episode would have never included her name if she had not been present. Although many brands are named after the owner with the owner never showing up, granted. But we were set-up for years to expect Martha to be there when her official moniker showed itself. It's too bad. I miss the great and various versions of numerous episodes that she did over the years. Even the more recent cooking school ones are awesome. Her current show is of a lower standard, unfortunately. I guess she is trying to appeal to a different audience these days. But all the other previous show are like treasures. I guess all things change eventually.
