Today I will share a gluten-free dumpling recipe. It is one of my favorite Dim sum dishes – Chiuchow Fen Guo (Chao Zhou Fen Guoๆฝฎๅท็ฒๆ). It has beautiful transparent skin, and a flavorful, healthy filling. You are gonna love it.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING
– 2 tbsp of cooking oil
– 1/4 cup of diced shallot
– 2 tbsp of minced garlic
– 1.5 tsp of minced ginger

INGREDIENTS FOR THE WRAPPER

– 100 grams of tapioca starch (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/qvX7)
– 25 grams of cornstarch (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/3lTgDzT)
– 2 tsp of vegetable oil to add to the water
– 300 grams of water
– 1 tbsp of oil to oil the rack and oil the rolling pin
– Extra cornstarch to prevent the dough from sticking

How can you call the recipe GLUTEN FREE but wheat starch is the ingredient for the dumpling skin?! There is still a small amount of gluten in wheat starch. It is false advertising.

Afaik, wheat starch is basically gluten. Are you sure it's gluten free? Gluten is what makes bread elastic and springy, and your dough is very elastic and stretchy
