  2. I don't add any oil or sugar at all. Just tomato, cucumber, onion, fresh dill, salt and pepper and my "secret" ingredient – Cavender's Greek seasoning.

  3. I grew up with this salad. But I am really weird. I don’t like cucumbers, so my mom added bell peppers for me. Now I don’t have a garden and no farmers market within easy reach, so grocery store all the way. I use Roma tomatoes because they are so meaty.

  6. thank you for the link to the recipe. This is by far the very best way to make this salad. The first time I made it I used ACV because that’s what I had on hand. Won’t do that again. White vinegar is the way to go. At first I thought a quarter cup of sugar was too much, but that much is needed to offset the vinegar. Making ahead and let it sit at least 6 to 8 hours before serving. It will be perfection.

Having made a few cucumber salads in the past, I know you are right about the liquid they release, so I took your advice and left out the water when making the dressing. It was fantastic. We'll be enjoying this quite often this Summer. Thanks for yet another great recipe.😋👏👏👍

  8. Looks delicious. Can't wait for my tomato harvest. Heirloom tomatoes should be great in this. I may add some fresh baby spinach.
