  1. I love clam chowder, too. Milk/creme? Probably some heavy creme, or half n half. It's a rich soup. Pour in your favorite dairy product. My recipe is very similar to this one but with more bacon and because I love corn, I add frozen corn. It sweetens the chowder and adds color. A couple dashes of Tabasco sauce and a pinch of thyme, grinds of pepper and we're done. I let it simmer a bit to thicken. Chopped parsley on top. Little oyster crackers. Mmm
    Mmm! It's the corn.

  2. I made this last night and it was such a hit. I was astounded how thick the soup was, and using the bacon and a little of the grease really pumped up the flavor. Because we had a left over seafood boil, I added shrimp and crab, as well. It is such an easy recipe, that I will consider it my go-to for all my chowders!! My son said it was the best he's ever eaten, and wondered if he should have a 3rd bowl! lol. I'll be looking at your other recipes. Thanks!

  3. This is a great channel! I only caught sight of you folks in recent times, but it’s now among my favourite channels.

  4. Looks great, and I love the quick video! No wasting time. Thank you! I have to try this …half the recipe…but add the same amount of clams and noooo bacon. Don’t eat meat, and this looks like it will be great without it.

  5. Fresh soft shell clams are most often harvested in months without "r"s. So yes we are shucking clams May-August to make New England clam chowder here in New England!

  6. mADE THIS TONIGHT! dELICIOUS! cANNOT FIND CLAMJUICE HERE IN THAILAND, SO I SIMMERED SLIGHTLY the clams (I used fresh baby clams from the Gulf of Thailand) then I used the clam- simmer water in place od clam juice and it woeked fine! Have it down to make from memory!

  7. Looks like a great and easy recipe…but it's not soup, it's chowder. Thanks for the video!

  8. I here women like digging, catching and shucking Geoduck clams..

My Ex stole my recipe of 40 years, hoping this one helps me get started on rebuilding the one I lost.

  9. No carrots in the New England. Freeze your fresh chowder clams…..put them in a big bowl after 3 hours they will open, use a clam knife and scoop the clams out and chopped them. put the juice on the side for later. You could still use some minced clams, but the heart of the flavor of the chowder is fresh clams. Again no carrots in the New England.

  10. Yup..looking for an easy thick recipe…have never made it before and can’t wait to try! If I don’t use bacon…then just use butter? Looks like you used both
