Love the chorus of “mushrooms aren’t a veggie”! In terms of culinary definition they most certainly are. It’s not unlike calling a tomato a vegetable because, while it’s a fruit, you won’t see it in a fruit salad! (Well, not mine.)
Mushrooms are lumped in with the vegetable term since there’s not really a need to have a whole other category for such a small number of ingredients. Way simpler to have a menu just say “veggies” and toss baby Bellas or buttons on there instead of a category of “fungus” separately!
A while back, mushrooms always looked disgusting to me, especially the way these mushrooms look.🤣🤣 Now I love mushrooms. So I will definitely be trying this recipe for sure.❤️

I saute' these in evoo & butter with slice cheese on them & lid on to melt , then place on wheat, whole grain, Rey, etc… Great sandwich with mayo
