  1. I do this with red & green cabbage, small cloves of garlic and some pearl onions. We eat it as a crunchy side dish! 😋

  2. I just started eating my first batch. I think flowering dill would be an an improvement.

  3. in my experience making fermented veg any salt works fine so long as it's not iodized. but that could be a wives tale.

  4. I've been doing this for years I like to add jalapenos and carrots and onions, another one to do is tomatillos which to me taste better than any pickle.

  8. Hi there!! We have a small homestead farm here in Louisiana and I've been using your bread n butter recipe for pickling cucumbers for two years and I can't make enough my customers love them.. I wanted to try using the whole cucumbers to make dill pickles and ran across this video.. I can't wait to try it..
Thanks for you guidance and willingness to share❤

  9. One tablespoon of salt per cup of water is WAY TOO salty!
Try 40 grams of salt per 1500ml of spring water.
What preserves pickles is the fermentation process, not the salt content of the brine.
Salt to taste. (if the pickles are good, they won't last long anyway)

  10. Try this brine with daikon slices and jalapenos for a super crunchy and (over time) super spicy treat!

  11. I just bought mini cucumbers and I assume they are the kind for making pickles with and then this video shows up. 😅 I shall try this recipe and also the bread and butter ones, as I think I have enough mini cucumbers for small batches. Just got to buy the dill now and what ever those little balls are for the bread and butter kind.

  12. Would simply adding cloves of garlic make it taste like zesty garlic pickles? Those are my favorite!
