  1. This sounds amazing with lamb instead of ground beef. I grew up eating stuffed cabbage. Sometimes my sister, mom and I would get together and make what seemed like hundreds and split them between our families. They keep so well in the freezer.
    My son never liked them and he doesn’t like lamb so he’s missing out here. He doesn’t like grape leaves either.
    He’s really missing out cause I think these are probably better than the beef ones.
    Allspice instead of cinnamon, no feta but maybe some ricotta or just parmigiana.
    The next day you can make halushki(don’t know if I spelled that right)with the remaining cabbage, onions and kielbasa in a skillet on the stovetop. Lots of butter here too.

  7. Tried this for dinner tonight, first time I’ve done cabbage rolls on my own. Loved the flavor with the cinnamon and currents and the crunch of the shaved almonds. I did it with ground beef because I wasn’t sure of my skills and didn’t want to sacrifice my lamb. Amazing recipe, wife was impressed and I have a new go to for my list of favorite Chef John’s!;)
