  1. My Mexican mind: “Lebanese nachos”

Nigella 3 seconds later: “a middle-eastern sophisticated version of nachos”

  2. well should be served with salad , it would not be served without salad and olives and lemon to squeeze on to help digest all those things that for some will cause indigestion , and after aniseed balls for those the lemon was not enough for btw usually the meat and sause is in the middle and the toasted bread round the side with the chopped salad inbetween , the bread is not usually toasted till its crunchy ? not sure why you did maybe coz you put the meat on top and it will become soggy otherwise ? you put an awful large amount of spice , arabic food is suttle not smack bang , well morroccan is a bit more slap taste , big taste but most arabs food has suttle flavour and well balanced , would not be so strongly seasoned , one spoon of each would be enough , you can add potato to this mix too , i would always bake more potato than is needed and keep the rest in the fridge then when i make this , take out of fridge , peel cube and add to the dish about five minutes before you finish cooking stiring it in and letting it warm , its not a dish you would find in a wealthy families home , though they most likely eat it if they are out , in place of what you call kebab , some prefer this , its really more a street food or poor peoples food they would not add so much meat , that was a lot of meat for so little bread , see they grow the veg so its free but the meat is not

  3. I am not sure what is more pleasurable, watching Nigella fondle her ingredients or watching Nigella fondle her words….

  4. I think from now now I'm going to call the purple veggie an "aubergine" (sounds so lovely when Nigella says it), instead of the decidedly less appetizing-sounding "eggplant" lol

  5. It may seem sacrilegious to ask, but if I’m cooking this for a vegetarian can I swap the beef for minced quorn or similar. Or is that a big no-no? Thanks

  6. Why am I watching this at midnight…..I’m literally salivating and doing a mental recon of my fridge and pantry. 🥴

  7. Looks beautiful and I love that dish. A bit of Sumach on top and I'm a happy man….
