These decadent peanut butter chocolate chip cookies have a tender texture and SO MUCH peanut butter flavor, which is nicely complemented by lots of chocolate and giant flakes of sea salt to balance the whole thing out. These cookies are a must try for all peanut butter lovers!

This peanut butter chocolate chip cookie recipe makes a BIG batch of cookies but you’ll find they disappear very quickly so don’t think you’ll be able to squirrel away that much extra dough to freeze and bake later! Knowing how to make peanut butter cookies is a dangerous talent, use it responsibly!

I topped my cookies with a generous sprinkle of Malden’s sea saltflakes and they were just plain delicious. It added a lot of visual interest and those little bursts of salt were just the perfect accompaniment to the sweetness and peanut butter flavor in the cookies.

  1. I laugh every time you do things I do when making stuff with my stand mixer! Nice to see you not editing it out cuz, it happens to all if us( some of us(me) more than others)! By tye way, love the book!!

  2. Tasting cookie dough with raw eggs in? Livin' on the edge, aren't you, ya little dare devil! 😂

  3. I’ve try this Recipe today for the first time , and first time ever baking home made any cookies lol
They are soft and crunchy at the same time . Thank you . Following every step of your video make it so easy . ❤ was worth the try and time. Definitely will check out your other recipe .

  4. For more peanut butter flavor I added 4 -5 tbsp of PB2! Also I swapped out the chocolate chips for mini Reeses Pieces🤤❤

  5. I love your recipes… can you do a video on CINNABON CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE. Thanks 🙏🏼

  6. I followed your recipe to the tee, my cookies turned out dry and gritty and crumbly??? Sad😪what did I do wrong? I am a virgo like you! Want to throw away my cookies. 💔

  7. I made these cookies today, 270 grs of all purpose flour is definitely NOT 2 1/4 cup of flour. go by the measuring cups measurements.

  8. Made these today! Absolutely delicious🤤 I’ll double the recipe next time❤

  9. I cut the recipe in half (yield 15 cookies), added a variety of mini milk chocolate peanut butter cups and chunks of dark chocolate, and otherwise followed the recipe to a T. They turned out SO delicious, like ones you might find at a bakery. Thank you!

  10. Made these and my notoriously picky sister said they were her favourite snack. Thank you so much! ❤

  11. Omg I love all you're amazing recipes🤗 I can't wait to make it for my granddaughters 🥰 when I'm watching you're video you always put a smile on my face 😀 you're such a happy guy God bless your amazing 🥰💞

  12. I only ever use dark chocolate chips in cookies. If you use milk chocolate the taste disappears into all the sugar.

  13. My dough is in the fridge chilling. Can’t wait to taste them. Hubby’s favorite is peanut butter, but I love chocolate. This is a perfect compromise.

  14. John, in your chocolate chocolate chip cookie video you say that brown sugar makes cookies spread more than white sugar. Here you say the opposite.

  15. I was actually concerned that the bag of flours was gonna slide off the table .. until John said “it’s close”😂

  16. I loved making these. I decided not to listen when he said to go slow on the batter when you put the flour in (did not turn out well) other than that the cookies I made good😅😅😅😅

  17. Gracias mi corazón ❤️ por poner en subtitulos las cantidades…tengo el honor de tener tu libro … fué un regalo de mi hija Fernanda en navidad 🎄 …😊

  18. I made these and they were very crumbly. I never made a cookie that I was worried would fall apart in baking them. They came out ok but I prefer my recipe that is more creamy of a batter.

  19. How much peanut butter? You say "260" but the screen showed "370 grams". If 1T is 15 grams and we used 1.5 cups (which is 24 T), then it should be 360 grams.

  20. Not sure what I did wrong. I followed the directions exactly but they came out crumbly to me. They didn’t necessarily fall apart when picking them up or holding them but once you bite into them they crumble. Only thing I don’t have is that mixer. I only had a hand mixer which I used. Not sure if that’s it or something else.

  21. I’m a Virgo too! I appreciate your perfectionista! It’s our strength and weakness. Thank you for your recipe.

  22. Thank you for sharing this recipe video with us. I made sure to add extra chocolate chips. They were beautiful and delicious !

  24. Would you ever consider developing a recipe for any kind of cookie that is entirely vegan (animal free: no eggs, no dairy)?
