This appetizer is both festive and easy. Get yourself some Iowa goat cheese and give it a try!

8 oz. goat cheese, softened
1.5 – 2 c. marinara sauce
1/4 c. fresh basil, sliced into ribbons
1/4 tsp. salt

Press goat cheese into the center of a small baking dish leaving a one-inch border around the cheese.
Spoon marinara sauce into the space around the edge. Cover the edge of the cheese but not the middle.
Sprinkle with salt.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Goat cheese should be hot and the marinara should be hot and bubbling.
Sprinkle with basil and serve with crackers or crusty bread.
